Bed bugs love to nest underneath mattresses. Although bed bugs are not deadly to humans, they can still bite and irritate your skin. You’ll know when you have bed bug bites because you’ll see tiny red sores or rashes in several areas of your skin. These may even be painful rashes too.
Don’t procrastinate when it comes to removing bed bugs. The sooner you eliminate them from your bedroom, the sooner you can go back to enjoying a peaceful and healthy night’s sleep. The common signs of bed bugs include yellowish shed skin, white oval eggs, and flat oval-shaped bugs crawling around.
Pestpro Bird Solutions provides professional bed bug control in Reading and the surrounding area. As a BPCA member company, we use established treatment methods and can provide both chemical and heat treatment options depending on the property and level of infestation.
Chemical treatments are applied carefully and in accordance with the product label and treatment requirements. Mattresses, bedding, clothing and other sensitive items are treated or managed appropriately, and we will advise you on any preparation required before treatment.
The heat treatment is applied to areas where chemicals cannot be used safely, such as clothing and bedding. The combination of the two treatments will eliminate all existing bed bugs and prevent any new ones from coming back.

DETECTION
Bed Bug Activity
Bed bugs can prove hard to spot initially as they are active at night and adept at hiding in dark places during the day. They most often hide in crevices and in spaces between mattresses and box springs, on bed frames and headboards, and between the couch and chair cushions. Although less common, they can also be found in dressers, in and on nightstands, luggage, electrical outlets, and amongst surrounding clutter. Once they infest a room, they often travel to adjacent rooms.
Bed Bug Bites
Bed bugs usually feed at night while people are sleeping. They hide in cracks, crevices, bed frames, mattresses and nearby furniture during the day, emerging to feed before returning to their hiding places. Adult bed bugs may become darker or more reddish in colour after feeding.
Bed bugs are not known to transmit disease to humans. Reactions to bites vary considerably: some people show no visible signs, while others may develop redness, swelling or itchy skin irritation.
- Before we carry out a treatment you will need to prepare the rooms that are to be treated.
- In order for the treatment to be succesful you need to remove clutter from the rooms or the treatment may fail.
- The rooms must be clear of books, loose clothing, boxes, toys CDs, etc. Do not put any of these objects into other rooms as you may spread the infestation. Clothing and bedding needs to be either washed above 60C, and tumble dried on a hot setting.
- Vacuum & clean the rooms beforehand and bag up in tied bin bags any clothing and textiles that need washing.
- We cannot chemicaly treat any clothing or bedding and mattresses.
- There is no need to change your mattress as this can be covered with an Anti dust mite enclosed mattress cover.
